I had such a wonderful long weekend with hubby and kenzie. We didn't even do anything very exciting but it's just nice to sit at home with everybody. Friday was nothing, Saturday we had a yard sale with our friends, made $35 or so but more importantly got rid of some stuff that we didn't need. Sunday was church, grocery shopping and nothing, and then Monday i spent the morning with my friend Jami, then came back home to see Joey before he left for work.
Kenzie made some landmarks though. She obviously by the video below, learned to work a see and say. She also 'ate' (or 'wore' is more like it) her first 'biter biscuit.' Those things are sooooo messy and definitely require a naked baby. She really enjoyed gnawing on the cookie though. We'll try some baby Mum Mum's next weekend and see if they are any less messy :)
My MIL got Kenzie a little table with buttons and music and stuff on it too so she can practice standing and her 'tough' skills. She's doing so well and it seems like she changes every day. The sitter didn't have her for a week because Joel's mom was watching her and when i brought her back to the sitter today she said that Kenzie had thinned out and grown even bigger!
She stands really well on her feet if you sort of steady her, but she barely shows any interest in crawling or scooting. I'm afraid she'll be one of those 'walk before i even bother crawling' sorts of babies. Not that it really matters though. We're still working on sitting up un-supported. If i sit her up and walk away for a second she'll sort of doing a 'leaning tower' and slowly, do a controlled tumble. It's pretty cute. :)
Well.....this weekend is Joel's first REAL father's day. Last year we got to celebrate a little because i was about 2 months pregnant, but it still didn't really count. Actually that was the day that we announced my pregnancy to our new-found church. They were giving away books as 'prizes' to the oldest dad, dad with most kids, youngest dad, and dad with the youngest kid. Joel raised his hand and asked if a kid in utero counted :).
Ok can i just say that my daughter smells AMAZING! I just had to go in her room and re-paci her since she was squirming and i knelt down toward her face and she smells sooooo good. Johnson's Shea Butter lotion + baby + fresh bath = heaven in a crib! :) I love her.
Picture time!
A random blast from the past....me on an outing with my mom and sister to St. Pete Beach right after the whole divorce thing...

Man i was skinny and cute back then! lol
Kenzie saying 'What? Is there something on my face?'
Well i have my first attempt at zucchini bread in the oven so i should go and check on that. Peace out!! :) LOL (man that's dumb)
