well....
I barely use this blog anymore but i like going back and reading things that i was thinking when i had life changing moments and such so i wanted to post my birth story of Alexander here so i don't forget any of it.
Alexander William was born at 3:29pm 8/23/10 8lbs4oz 21 inches at exactly 38 weeks.
I was scheduled for an induction on 8/23 at 7am but woke up around 3am to some really strong contractions coming a few mins apart. They stuck around for about 2 hours but eventually slowed. I knew they were really strong and unusual but figured hey I'm going in soon anyways so no biggie. Went into the hospital at 7am and once they hooked me up to the monitors I truly was contracting pretty well on my own every 2 mins. I got hooked up to the pitocin but on the very lowest level since I was already goin on my own. My doc came in around 8am and broke my water which HURRRRT but got things goin. I continued to contract every 2 mins until they eventually were coming back to back and really painful. The anesthesiologist had a csection around noon so I didn't want to miss the opportunity for my epidural. I got it done around 1030am and felt great relief! After the anesthesiologist left i started feeling a little weird and started to freak out. I felt like i was having trouble breathing and felt really faint. I told Joel to call the nurse ASAP and when she came in she took my blood pressure and it was WAY down. I don't remember exactly how low but it was really low. The nurse had me turn on my side for a while and after about 10 mins or so it came back up. I stayed on my side for most of the time after that to be safe. I later took a little nap which was refreshing since I had been up since 3am contracting. After the epidural though....my fears came true...they checked me again and I was only at 3cm and then my contractions slowed way down. They went to about every 5 mins and lessened in intensity. They kept upping the pitocin bit by bit from level 6 to eventually 38. Around 2pm I was at 8cm and the epi wasn't working as well. I began to really feel the contractions and broke into tears from exhaustion and pain. Even though I've been through labor before i started to get really scared of the pushing part. I was in a lot of pain and was bawling my eyes out in fear of what came next. I think i was just emotional though because once i got out the tears i was fine. The anesthesiologist came back and upped my epi and gave me a pain killer in the IV since I was already at 8cm and progressing quickly from there. By about 3:15 I was feeling immense pressure and told the nurse who said I was at 10cm and ready! Doctor came in and after 4 or 5 excruciating pushes he was crowning. I pushed once more and his head was out but his shoulders were stuck. I was between contractions but it hurt so badly that I pushed once more just to get him OUT! Lol. He popped out and I've been in love ever since. He latched on to BFing right away in the birthing room and has been eating like a champ. Now that my milk has come in things are going even better. This has been one tough pregnancy but its been so worth it all to hold my little man. He has a full head of black hair like his sister but I'm sure that will fade to blonde one day too . The first night back at home was really rough with him waking every 30 to 45 mins using me as a walking pacifier but now things are much better and he wakes every 2 to 3 hours to eat which is much more manageable. We think he has a lactose sensitivity from when i was in the hospital and drank a lot of milk and he was very gassy so i'm avoiding milk for now but hope to re-introduce it to my body soon!

What is a blog?
Ok i know i have a lot of dedicated readers so i know i've disppointed you all with my lack of posts. I have no excuses, i have no reasons. Other than being sick all day, watching a baby, working, paying bills, cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, sleeping, doing laundry and cleaning more....i have nothing to do all day.
I've been feeling pretty 'eck' of late but i guess that's to be expected of the 1st trimester. I was bumped back one week on my due date since my u/s measured me to be one week behind. I knew i was though since at 4 weeks my pregnancy tests were all negative and at 5 wks they suddenly showed up +. So i had to do week 9 twice. Sorta a bummer. I haven't been AS sick as i was with Kenzie which is good but having to be up and active with my toddling tot isn't helping my nausea one bit. With kenzie if i was sick...i laid down and relaxed for 3 hours. With this munchkin i get no such breaks. BUT i'm nearing the 2nd trimester and i'm freally excited about that. I do feel sorta bad because i'm not as 'in' to this pregnancy as my first. I'm hoping that once i start feeling him/her move that it'll be different but i am just so much more complacent this time around :(. Don't get me wrong, it's still amazing and wonderful and we're so psyched...but it is just different.
Kenzie is doing great these days. She's runnign everywhere and trying to force her independance on us. She doesn't like to sit in strollers or carts anymore...she wants to run. We were at SAMS yesterday and she walked up and down and around the aisles for like 30 mins just laughing and cracking herself up. She's ok to run around sometimes and will listen to me and follow me most of the time, but there are times when a swift pop on the bum is needed to keep her in line. :)
Joel is doing well this his schooling and work. Nothing much new to report there. We didn't get our January VA payment which SUCKED and we don't know why....but we knew we could fall back on our tax money. Well then i wake up today and our bank account is $3000 richer thanks to state tax returns and a random $1800 payment from the VA. Guess i won't complain! :)
I'm still enjoying my job at the bank and it's going well. I need to write a letter to the board of directors soon to ask for approval on my leave of absence for maternity leave since i've been there less than 1 year. HOPING they approve me!!
Joel and I are counting down the payments until we are car payment free! 8 months on his car and 11 on mine and that'll be done with! Hopefully we can keep them both running for at least one more year to save that extra money!
We've currently got about 6 inches of snow on the ground and i'm having a great time playing in it. Kenzie...not so much. She's not quite stable enough to walk in it so she doesn't understand the joys of snow. I would take her sledding but i can't since i'm preggo :( oh well.
I get to come to FL in April and i'm really looking forward to that. Thanks for Joel's aunt Sandy i get to fly down for free and stay for nearly a week! YAY!! I need some warm weather and i'm already prepping with some cute maternity clothes! I splurged $70 last night on some clothes from Old Navy but it was my tax return gift. We technically probably should use all of the money for bills....but what fun is that!? So Joel and I each get $200 to splurge and have some fun with. Life's no fun if all you do is pay bills right?
We're going to put away quite a bit of cash and pay off some bills and start stocking up on supplies for baby #2 and save some cash for vacations over the next year too.
Well i have a screaming toddler who needs me so i'm out!!!
