Case of the Mondays...

Well today started out with Joel not being able to sleep at all. He woke up when I did but he's supposed to sleep in so he can work the night shift. We had a dumb arguement over the computer but we fixed that. Got to work and it was Monday as usual, :::Blah:::. Then Joel calls and tells me that he thinks he has a kidney stone because his kidneys hurt and he can't use the bathroom. So he feels some pain, but he's ok. About an hour later he calls me in mortal pain and is wanting to go to the ER. So i leave work and we meet up at the ER. Fast forward 6 hours (gotta love the VA) and he is sent home with pain killers and urine filters. =)

He'll have a CT scan later this week so they can confirm that a stone is the problem and to determine the size of it. If it's less than 5mm he can pass it himself, bigger then that and they'll have to take other steps. Hopefully all works out and he can pass it. He's doing fine now, but the pain is random and when it does come it hits really really hard. Keep him in your prayers that we can get the CT done soon and that all goes well.

Now it's time for the 'Weekend Update'....

Our weekend has been great so far...Friday was dinner and a movie. We went to Olive Garden and then went and saw National Treasure 2 at the dollar theater so that was fun. Can't beat $2 for a movie date. =)
Then we came home and played with the furbabies for a little while and then off to bed!
Saturday was a busy morning of grocery shopping and looking for a new bank, to no avail. Had lunch at a sub shop, and then back home again. Joel put together our new firepit (with much much anger and frustration) and then we relaxed outside on the deck for a little bit. Laundry and house cleaning were the 'have to's' of the day and then we sat back and watched 'Enchanted' and 'I Am Legend' which were both really good movies. (Can you tell that we like movies?)
After that we ate a very 'healthy' pizza dinner, LOL and watched Law and Order: SVU. SO nothing too exciting in the land of us old married folk. It was nice to have a relaxing night in with the 2 pups in a clean house though.
Today doesn't hold anything else too exciting: church, and then back home again. NASCAR is the high point of today, Go, Jeff Go!

counting down to the weekend...

So today is looking up. Work today was pretty easy-going and laid back. I was able to finish everything and have time to just sit and relax some. Thursdays are usually pretty good days for me because I know that I get to see Joel on Friday, plus Friday is always pay day and casual day at work so that cheers me up. I'm hoping that this blog will keep me busy with something to do during the week, and perhaps get my creative juices flowing. I'm really getting into photography and photo editing and I think I'll start posting my latest work on here instead of random other sites.
It's rainy outside today so that means that i get to come home to two mud-puppies. The dogs love to run around in the mud and get filthy and then come inside and put their paws all over me. Bathtime is futile because I know that they'll just go outside and do it again. So I just deal with it.
Well I'm looking forward to this weekend; Joel and I have plans to do nothing really. Maybe do dinner by ourselves or with some friends at some point, but other than that...relax around the house and perhaps just watch movies. Make a fire in the new firepit out back and watch the pups play. Sounds like a good time to me.

So Sean and Hettie created a blog spot, and I like to copy people, so I figured maybe I would start one up too. =) (sorry guys, my goal in life is to be like you LOL jk jk)
Today was uneventful...wake up...go to work...work....come home...cook and clean...then sit around doing nothing. The stress of Joel's schedule vs. mine is catching up with me. I hate that we only see each other 3 days per week right now, it just sux....sux sux sux. There are a lot of things i'd like him to be around for. Talking to me, eating dinner with me, playing with the dogs with me, anything...anything at all. Being in a new place without a lot of friends or familiarity takes its toll on a person like me that likes to be around people ALL the time. But i am happy with our house, and our life in general, just wish that it were easier AND that we'd catch a break a little more often, here and there. But alas, such is life...so i hear.
So I guess i'll start posting on here at night to keep me busy and in touch with people. Since i'm sure you all have nothing better to do than see what i do every day. ;)
