This shouldn't be happening yet! Kenzie has had a really rough few weeks with sleep and has sort of reverted back to her 'newborn' state with waking every 2-3 hrs most nights. She also has assumed that 3am is 'wake up time' and likes to be wide awake then. So on Saturday night Joel and I decided that we had had enough of her thinking that 3am is an ok time to stay awake and we decided to try and let her cry it out for a little bit...see how things went. So we took the wide awake baby out of her bouncy seat and laid her in the crib with music on, and closed the door behind us. I turned the monitor way down so i didn't have to listen to her screaming too much. I was totally prepared for a miserable morning. Well 5 mins later the kid was asleep without so much as a peep. LOL. Then Sunday night....she was fussy at bedtime. We did the bath/bottle/rock to sleep thing but she was just not havin' it. I got frustrated and we decided to try it again and let her cry it out. We did the same thing...put a fussy awake baby in her crib...music on, monitor down, walk out. Well with about 10 mins of her playing around and 10 seconds of crying, she was out. PLUS she slept better than she has in weeks! We only woke up once with her at 1am!? Geeze. I guess she is just ready to do this on her own. I cried last night afterwards because i had my first moment of 'she doesn't need me anymore.' I know...i know...she's still a baby and DOES need me....but still....she's growing up so fast so it's just hard to get used to the idea.
Anyways.....we had a good weekend overall. I did end up watching the Derby and it was interesting to watch because the guy that won came from outta NOWHERE in like 10 place, to win it! It was pretty cool and no horses were hurt this time! Hurray! This horse's odds were like 50:1 so the payouts were HUGE for anyone who betted on him. Too bad I didn't, LOL.
This coming weekend is a big weekend for us. It's Joel's Scottish Festival which he looks forward to all year. Friday i am off of work to spend the day with my MIL shopping at the outlets. With baby in tow of course. And then Sunday is my all important Mommy's day. My first one!! eek! Well....i was 2 weeks preggo for the last one but didn't know yet...so it doesn't count. We are planning on going to church and then spending the day at home with my girly, and then Joel and I will go out for dinner somewheres nice and fancy shmancy. Looking forward to it. I'll post more about mommy's day later but for now i should get back to work!
I leave you with this!! :)
Gosh they look SO alike!! LOL

This reminds me of when we were driving back home from Orlando one day and Rylan was screaming and crying. It was going on like that for about 20 minutes or so until he finally wore himself out and fell asleep. I cried and told Wes that we broke his little heart...he now knew we wouldn't always be there when he cries for us.
Those are some tough moments.
I am happy you are getting some more sleep. Cute pics of miss Kenzie!
I HATE to let Kenzie cry for any amount of time whatsoever, she gets to hot and sad and it just breaks my heart. I know one of these days though she will cry at night and i'll have to leave her be. Ugg.....makes ME want to cry just thinking about it!!
