More firsts and updates

Ugh…so many things to write about today…so many indeed….
First off…this past weekend was nice. Friday I came home from work and we ate dinner and relaxed. Kenzie had been pretty fussy with daddy all day so I had to rescue him. She remained fussy most of the evening though so it was an early bedtime for the girl at 7:30. Saturday we cleaned house in preparation for our friend’s to come into town. ‘Jervis’ as we call him (which is his last name, LOL) was one of Joel’s friends from the Corps. And he just got out of the USMC so they will be driving from CA to Rhode Island next week and stopping in to see us. We went to his wedding 4 yrs ago after Joel and I got married and it was gorgeous. They have a little 1 ½ yr old boy now so we can’t wait to meet little Gavin. So anyways Joel and I both worked on cleaning out the spare room and I also organized Kenzie’s closet and room. All of Kenzie’s ‘too big yet’ clothes, and ‘already too small’ clothers were just sort of thrown into bags and boxes and in the closet so I got all of it out and put them into vacuum sealable space bags. Now her closet is neat and tidy and pretty, full of only clothes for ‘now.’ I also decided to take on some crafting prjects to beautify her room. I made a collage of her ‘shower’ cards and put it into a big frame on her wall….so cute and pretty and a nice way to save the cards and display them. Yay. Then I also took some pics of her and put them onto little wooden plaques with pink/brown paper behind them…tie them up on ribbon and hang on the wall….DONE! So now she has pretty stuff up on the wall. Over all we probably spent about 6 hours cleaning and organizing and crafting :). I’ll post pics of it all if I get a chance tonight.

Moving on though…..Kenzie rolled over all the way for the first time on Friday afternoon. Daddy was sitting on the computer with Kenzie on her playmate and low and behold….she rolled over and was laying on her arm as she usually does, and then BAM! She moved her arm and then got up on her elbows! YAY! She’s now a rolling fiend and won’t lay on her back hardly at all. She slept on her side all weekend :)

As for ‘us’ updates….I talked to my sister 2 weeks ago and her husband is going to school now with his GI Bill….well…..with all of the new bills that the new Prez. has put into place, there is a new and revised GI bill….basically it’s aim is to pay for 100% tuition, and help the GI’s to not have to work while in school, so it provides a BAH equal to the state’s E5 pay level. Basically meaning that if Joel enrolls in school full time, then his tuition is paid 100% and we get a monthly payment as well. Well…..this payment on average is about equal to my bring home pay after the sitter is paid every week….meaning…..I could stay home theoretically. It hasn’t gone into action yet but it should be in full effect by August this year. Joel is going to apply and get the paperwork rolling so hopefully come the fall….I can be a SAHM! I am excited about the prospect but not getting my hopes up either…..so we’ll see what God’s plans are for us! I hope and pray that this is it!

This past weekend we were all sitting outside on Sunday afternoon (the only pretty day outside) and Kenzie is totally into blowing spit bubbles and making that spitty sound when she does it….she’ll do that all day long….well she was doing that and I did it back at her really loudly and she just thought it was the funniest thing and just laughed and smiled. Too cute :)

Baby food….it’s going well….she ate sweet potatoes first and loved them….then we tried peas….not quite so much but I’m making her eat them anyways. Then on Sunday we tried carrots and sweet goodness this child loved those. She would get mad if I didn’t scoop them into her mouth fast enough!! So in a few more days we’ll try green beans….hurray! She is getting so good about eating and actually gets mad when she doesn’t get fed real food now at least 2x per day. :)

Hmm…anymore updates….well this weekend we have a wedding to go to…open bar LOL…the best kind of wedding. :) Grandma will have Kenzie for the day so we can relax and not worry about her fussing or anything. I’ll have to go and do some serious shopping to find myself a dress to wear! Yikes.

Well I think that’s it for me/us! Hope you all have a good week!!

Just curious, what do the "J's" mean?

Yah, the new GI bill is what Sean has been waiting for so he can enroll in school to get the new benefits. I hope it all works out for you. Would Joel still work, too? Yay for SAHMs!

Wanna see pics of the nursery.

Miss you guys!

Oh yah and start the paperwork ASAP. My friend's hubby at work had a nightmare of a time getting enrolled. You know how slow the government and military are!
