Well our New Year was a blast! We went to a friend's house from church first and hung out with them, snacked on finger foods for dinner and played games...then moved on to Joel's friend's house around 9:30 and stayed there until about 1am. I am SHOCKED that i was able to stay up that late but i was having fun and had been lazy and napped all day before so i guess that really did help.
On New Years day we went to Chris' house (Joel's friend again) for the traditional New Years meal and hung out with his family until like 7pm. Theeeen on 1/2 we went out to lunch with all of his friends again at Bristol (YUMMO!!) and then eventually went to Uncle Steve's house for dinner and more family! All in all it was a great holiday....until last night right before we left Steve's house. Ms. Mackenzie started moving around a whole bunch, which is perfectly normal and all....but since she is SO LOW now, her head is RIGHT on my cervix. Every time the girl moved, it felt like she was on a nerve or something because it felt like i was being stabbed :::ahem::: down there :::ahem:::. I couldn't sit stand or walk without feeling it and was about to cry it hurt so bad. So we headed home around 10pm and it stopped in the car and after calling my sister and Jami (previous preggos) i felt ok that it was normal. Well when we got home i was feeling ok but then it started up again, and i started to get small contractions from time to time. I ate a sandwich and thought all was good but when i got up to go to the bathroom i started to have some really intense cramping/contractions. I ended up hugging my porcelein friend and thought ok....this is it! My body is getting rid of everything because i'm in labor. I managed to crawl into bed and felt miserable. The contractions stopped though and i fell asleep. All night long i kept thinking i'd wake up to my water breaking or something, but it never did. It's sort of bitter-sweet too because while i AM ready to have her outta me...it's really scary to know that this REALLY could be it ANYTIME now. When we got home last night Joel and I both immediately packed our hospital bags because we had been putting it off for so long. So at least now i am packed, baby is packed, and hubby is packed. We are locked and loaded! Today we'll be doing some errands and then hanging out with Jami and Ethan probably, so i'm taking it 'easy' but we do have to get groceries so some walking will be involved. So much of me wants this to start happening, but the other half is like no...it's ok...you'll be induced in 8 more days anyways!! just wait!
Anyways....we also had an ultrasound yesterday morning that went pretty well. Baby is doing great and measuring right on schedule now instead of 2 weeks ahead so that's awesome...but the u/s tech was sorta bee-yatchy if i can say that. Apparently my appt was at 9am but i wrote down 9:45 so she was just pissy about the whole thing and everything that we found out i had to ask about. Normally the techs tell me what they are looking at or what baby is measuring etc etc..but this one was just trying to rush through it and it seemed like an 'inconvenience' when i asked questions. Oh well!!
Well i should go and wake Joel up so we can get some stuff done today. The dogs are going nutso because our white trash neighbors let their dog run free in the neighborhood and he is in our front yard now. At least he hasn't climbed the fence in our backyard for a few days. I'm telling you if he does that again my dogs will get to have some fun with a 'new plaything' and teach it a lesson. Ugg. Well buh bye for now!!
